  The WTS never admits when they are wrong. The humility that you displayed is the antithesis of how the men of the borg carry themselves; blaming the 1975 mess-up and the 'generation' change on the R&F.

  As to the Q, I did enough research via KH library books and the CD-Rom to be personally convinced that the WTS was jacked-up before coming to the apostate invented 'Internet' [or was the Al Gore?]. Once here, I finally felt like I wasn't crazy seeing that others had come to the same conclusions regarding issues like 587/607, the Proclaimers book whitewashed authorship, the splitting hairs on the parts of blood that we can accept, the propaganda in the WTS literature, and some other issues.

  Once here though, I was still floored by what else I learned, like the UN thing.

  But the biggest thing that floored me once coming here was the level of inhumane treatment and absolute arrogance that so many here were being handled with by the 'loving' elders of jehover's earthly organization. It wasn't one or two cases, but a widespread 'composite' sign that transcended across the entire global Borganization of the WTS.

  Seeing so many lives hurt and ruined by the WTS, I felt an enormous level of guilt for 'preaching' door to door, hurting others in my community, those of my family members who aren't in the Troof, and to my friends who I shunned because they are 'marked' or DF'd. As a friend, I let them down and chose to follow the marching orders of evil, power hungry men. It's good to find that of the ones I have now contacted, they have welcomed me back with open arms as a friend again.

  That's what true friendship and love are all about. A stark contrast to those in the Borg.

  in the last couple of days ive been reading info on the un & wts ...so have been pretty absorbed with the amount of info out there on the wts...

  anyway...it hasnt been that long since i left the wts...and a close friend of mine (never a witness) said to me ,twice now, and rather strongly again today...

  "its over, you have left, get over it...your obsessed with this, who cares, just get over it before it drives you mad...its really pathetic"

  Completely typical.

  I felt like I was hit across the chest with an aluminum bat, knocked to the ground, and then had my teeth kicked in. It’s only been a few months for me, so I’m still reeling a bit from it all.

  For me, it’s akin to being married for half of your life, and the whole time your spouse is telling you that you aren’t good enough, you have to do more, you’re making the marriage fail, it’s your fault the kids are f*cked up, etc..

  In the end, you just can’t take it anymore and divorce your mate and go to start life over again thinking that you’re a complete failure.

  And so you move on with your life.

  But then people start coming by and telling you things never knew about your spouse:

  “Did you know your spouse was a crack whore?”

  “Hey, look at this video. Your spouse was a porn star.”

  “Did you know that your spouse was sleeping with the judge during your divorce hearing?”

  And they show you video tapes, written documents, you name it, all showing that your spouse was a louse. It had nothing to do with any of your shortcomings.

  Guess what? Any normal person is going to feel compelled to learn more about the ‘Truth’ regarding their snake spouse once that Pandora’s Box is opened!

  But once you digest it, come to grips with it, you will hopefully move on and grow from it to have a healthy life.

  ~

  So sens; ya, the WTS is a two-timing, cheap whore that rode the UN for 10 years. The ex- JW community that found out about it was in shock too.

  Now we are here at this JWD online clinic to make sure that the bee-yoch WTS Harlot didn’t give us crabs.

  Another thing, have u been able to talk with the therapit about the WTS and how they have treated your wife? Maybe they wouold should know.

  I want to address that delicately without speeding up or altering the method that the doctors are using to help her. Right now they are getting to know her and I feel my wife is benefiting from these visits so there is no need to rock the boat yet. Once she is more stable, I will talk to the doctors about the WTS, guaranteed. I think the psychiatrist would be an excellent candidate in this regard, although the therapist should know too.

  Thx for your insights. You had some valuable, straightforward tactics listed that I really appreciated. BTW, yes, she is still an active JW [although we miss at least one or two meetings a week now] and we have no kids.

  I see the benefit of uniting and then going to a healthy environment. Plus, the vacation idea would be great to do. I know that would help.

  I rec’d Steve Hassan’s book, ‘Releasing the Bonds’, which I understand will address exit counseling. I will read that before CoC, because it may help me get her out of the Borg. Plus, I want to talk to the psychiatrist, as I am betting than he can help with exit counseling. He knows much more about the WTS than I believe he is letting on to.

  While physical pranks or tactics are fun to kick around, I believe that your words have merit. It really is the best revenge, to show that we can be happier out of the Borg than in. It takes the ammo away from the naysayers and leaves them powerless to substantiate saying anything bad about our exit.

  Yes, in seeing this myself, it empowers me to make my next step. I have no doubt that I am right about the WTS. If I am wrong, then kill at the Big ‘A’, ‘cause I don’t want to live forever on an earth filled with people like these elders.

  I hope some day I can show her these posts so that she can see the stark contrast of love in the world in contrast to the fear-mongering love that drives the Borg.

  Just Re-Read 1984

  and i remember the days when the jws warned about the catholics and their "index" of books, movies, and plays that were denied to catholics as being "dangerous" to their faith.

  that is to say, they were revelatory of the actual truth of a matter and the roman church did not want these truths spreading throughout the faithful.

  This is long, sorry. But the book freed my thought process.

  Early this year I read Animal Farm and found it so eerily close to the JW world that I immediately read 1984. I was floored. It forever changed my life as a JW.

  I always felt that the WTS was rewriting history with their Proclaimer’s book, but never researched it myself. All I knew was that the Proclaimer’s book just felt wrong to me, like they were rewriting their own past. But I always put it out of my mind.

  After reading 1984; the ruling party, Insog, had a motto that hit too close to the WTS’ MO in the Proclaimer’s book for me to just let it slide. The motto is:

  'Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present controls the past”

  The WTS controls all information that a JW receives. We can’t talk to a DF’d, DA’d or especially an apostate. We can’t even do an even exchange of literature at the door. That always bugged me. And therefore a JW most often knows no better, because all info is fed to them from the WTS.

  That’s why the WTS is scared to death of the Internet. They can’t control it. And now that they can’t control the present, their past is coming out to bite them. Their present misdoings are being told. The WTS is losing its stranglehold on the R&F.

  ~

  The thought process needed to survive as a JW is defined in 1984 PERFECTLY by Orwell. The definition of this process is:

  DOUBLETHINK : The power to hold two completely contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accept both of them.

  Or as said in the book by Winston Smith:

  “To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them…

  … That was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink.'

  All of us did it as JW’s:

  “We are not here to convert you, we are just doing a Bible education work.”

  “It’s not true that we believe that only JW’s will survive Armageddon. Only Jesus knows as he is the final judge.”

  ~

  AS JW’s, we are told to avoid words at the door that are familiar only to the WTS organization. That’s because as JW’s, we have our own language.

  Again, this is addressed in 1984. It’s called:

  NEWSPEAK : Newspeak is based on standard English, but all words describing "unorthodox" political ideas have been removed.

  In 1984, a few good examples are:

  Minipax - Ministry of Peace (war)
  
  Miniplenty - Ministry of Plenty (rationing).

  Minitrue - Ministry of Truth (propaganda) - Department of the government in charge of all record keeping and history re-writing.

  Now let’s look at some JW words. The negative connotation has been removed, making the word seem good:

  Privilege: what really amounts to an added burden or work for someone, is now viewed as a blessing from jehover.

  Disfellowship : someone isn’t kicked out of the congregation and ostracized, but rather the person’s fellowship privilege is no longer available. Hell, it’s not even a word that can be found in a dictionary, let alone to be found in the Bible

  I’m sure you can think of more.

  If one even has a doubt about a teaching or the WTS, we are supposed to go the elders for help because we are sick. Here, a JW’s thoughts are controlled by the WTS. In 1984, this is defined as:

  CRIMETHINK - To even consider any thought not in line with the principles of Ingsoc. Doubting any of the principles of Ingsoc

  ~

  in 1984, there is even a book that is forbidden to read. Possession of it is the greatest act of heresy a citizen of Oceania can commit. It’s titled:

  THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF OLIGARCHICAL COLLECTIVISM

  All this book does is explain the structure of society in straightforward and honest manner. And under a totalitarian regime, that is the single greatest act of thoughtcrime possible.

  Of course, as JW’s we have such a book also. Possession of it will result in an immediate DF’ing, no Q’s asked. It’s called:

  Crisis of Conscience , by Ray Franz

  All it does is explain how the Governing Body operates behind the scenes.

  Is this terrifying similar to anyone else besides me?

  Jeez, I could go on with this for a while. Just read the book if you haven’t. It should be required reading for all JW’s or those who never were a JW but want to understand what life was like as a JW.

  Animal Farm is good too. Read both books if you can. They empowered me to examine me thought process and see that I was an expert at DOUBLETHINK.
